Architectural background (BA Hons. Newcastle University). Joined one of the UK’s leading private access consultancies in 1999 and then joined MPH Group in 2003 as Principal Access Consultant and occupied the same position for RNIB in 2015 before setting up an independent consultancy in 2018. James was an online advisor for Workplace Law and is a long-term member of the northeast Access Association. James provides pragmatic, cost-effective advice, for optimum use of available budgets. His CAD skills facilitate accurate checks of drawn information and a rapid response to issues.
He has extensive consultancy experience on new build and refurbishment projects, for example on Education, Heritage, Theatre, Arts, PFI, Public, Private, Arts Council, and Lottery-funded. James’s audit experience covers a wide range for example, Education, Museums, Historic buildings, Health and fitness, Leisure, Arts, Pedestrian infrastructure and Transport, including trains, ferries and associated terminals.

Training: live delivery and online production in Equality Act, Inclusive Design, Auditing, Easy Read production and disability-related topics.
