NRAC held our annual conference at Coin Street Community Centre on 1st November 2017 with close to 100 attendees.  Designed to appeal to those involved in the provision, design and management of the built environment, the conference provided key updates for those with an interest in accessibility, inclusive design and the built environment.  Delegates heard from Chris Fry from Fry Law who gave an update on recent Equality Act disability discrimination cases; Richard Dryden from Turner and Townsend on the accessible university campus; Nicolas Kent from OpeMed on designs in a bariatrics setting, and their support of the Changing Places toilet campaign; and Jean Hewitt from the Centre for Accessible Environments who outlined their international tourism project.  Julie Fleck, BEPE Project Lead for the Construction Industry Council (CIC) also gave an update on CIC’s Inclusive Environment work before Andrew Lord, NRAC Advisory Group Member, closed the conference by giving delegates an update on the work of NRAC over the past year.

A big thank you to all our speakers,  our exhibitors Aveso,  Contacta, Custodian, Hewi , Lyfthaus, OpeMed, Quantum Flooring Solutions and The Access Association and of course to everyone who attended. We look forward to seeing you at next years conference and we will be sending a save the date in early 2018.
